Anything else - looking up types of coral, for example, is fair game. However I'd ask that you not go to the image copyright holder's website (until you're done with the challenge, at least). The challenge difficulty level is set at, which means you're allowed to turn to external assistance. It also turns out it makes for a very hard challenge!
